Swan Lake has been one of the world’s most popular ballets since its première in 1895 at St. Petersburg. Audiences young and old are captivated by Swan Lake’s romantic fantasy set to Tchaikovsky's beautiful score, the lavish sets and the graceful choreography.
The story focuses on Odette, the beautiful Swan Queen, who can only take on human form at night. This spell can only be broken by the sworn, true love of a mortal. A handsome young prince falls deeply in love with Odette and vows his true love. However, the devil Von Rothbart enchants Odile, the Black Swan, and tricks the Prince into successfully expressing his marriage vows to her at the Ball. Triumphantly Von Rothbart reveals the pleading vision of Odette at the window and vanishes. Broken-hearted, the real Swan Queen, Odette, is eventually reunited with the Prince for one last dance.
The show features live accompaniment by Hong Kong Sinfonietta and magnificent sets and costumes. Join us for this heart-wrenching story of true love, one of the most popular classical ballets of all time.
